Refuse collection vehicles can quickly build up road dirt, grease and waste residue, particularly around rear working areas. Regular cleaning helps keep vehicles and working areas cleaner between collection rounds. We can clean:

Our RCV Cleaning Process
Our mobile teams clean RCVs directly at the depot or operating site using purpose-built cleaning units.
Before work begins, we agree the vehicles, wash area, timings and cleaning requirements, including any access or drainage needs. Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH information can also be provided where required.
Vehicles are pre-treated to help loosen road film, grease, dirt and residue before key surfaces are manually brushed where needed. Exterior areas such as bodywork, windows, lights, mirrors, wheels and wheel arches are then cleaned using high-pressure water.
Where included in the agreed service, attention can also be given to rear working areas such as bin lifts, hoppers, tailgates and ejector panels. RCV dig-outs and internal cleaning can also be arranged where required.
We use professional detergents manufactured in line with ISO 9001/9002 quality standards as part of the cleaning process.
RCV cleaning often takes place in active depots where vehicle movements, access and designated working areas need to be carefully managed.

Suitable drainage is not always available at waste depots and operating sites. Where required, our wastewater containment equipment can capture wash water during vehicle cleaning.
Collected wastewater can then be removed from site for approved disposal. Mobile Fleetwash is licensed by the Environment Agency for this work, with supporting waste documentation available where required.
This means RCV cleaning can still be considered at sites with limited or unsuitable drainage.
Some refuse vehicles need more than a regular exterior wash. More intensive cleaning can be arranged for waste-handling areas where dirt, debris and residue have built up.
This can include hopper, tailgate and ejector panel areas, with the tailgate lowered where suitable and safe to do so. RCV dig-outs and internal cleaning can also be included as part of the agreed cleaning specification.
